Hi, I’m Jamal. I live in Taghazout, a small fishing village on the Atlantic coast of Morocco that turned into one of the best surf towns in the world. I coach surfing here, I run trips to the dunes and Paradise Valley, and I host travellers in our small guesthouses. Surf Trip Escape is where I put everything I’ve learned into writing.

Why this blog exists

Every week I meet travellers who booked the wrong camp for their level, came in the wrong season, or paid too much because nobody told them how things really work here. I started this site to fix that. Local guides draw on my work around Taghazout. For destinations and packages beyond that local experience, the site also publishes researched planning guides based on current organiser information.

We distinguish firsthand local knowledge from guides based on published listings. A listing-based guide is not a personal visit or an independent verification of every operator claim. We compare practical details such as coaching time, room type, transfers, meals, exclusions and cancellation terms, and explain who a trip may or may not suit.
