About Surf Trip Escape

Hi, I’m Jamal. I live in Taghazout, a small fishing village on the Atlantic coast of Morocco that turned into one of the best surf towns in the world. I coach surfing here, I run trips to the dunes and Paradise Valley, and I host travellers in our small guesthouses. Surf Trip Escape is where I put everything I’ve learned into writing.

Why this blog exists

Every week I meet travellers who booked the wrong camp for their level, came in the wrong season, or paid too much because nobody told them how things really work here. I started this site to fix that. The guides are written from the ground, not from a desk — the spots, the camps, the prices and the little details you only learn by living here.

How we choose what to recommend

We only write about camps and retreats we know personally, have visited, or that our own guests came back from happy. If something isn’t good, it doesn’t go on the site.
